After talking about safety and how to use tools the children had lots of fun whittling (peeling carrots with vegetable peelers), helping to develop their fine motor skills.
Carrying on with their interest in dens, we made dens inside and out, under tables, in containers, and using wooden pallets.
Breaking up weetabix proved very popular to use with the construction vehicles, scooping and spreading it around the tray.
Setting up chairs for a bus the children took their babies onboard, and we ended up with a sing song and different versions of the song ‘Wheels on the bus’.
Moving the crates to create an obstacle course helps the children to build their confidence and gain new skills when navigating across, and how proud they were of their achievements.
Using laundry balls instead of marbles gave the children a different experience when marble rolling, and produced a very unusual effect.
